Socks (Meeting in Progress)

Socks is described as very independent, confident and openly affectionate when in the right mood. She can often be found sitting on someone’s lap and isn’t shy in demanding attention. Once she’s had enough, she’s confident enough to communicate her wishes with a bat of the paw or a light nip. While Socks enjoy the company of children, they will need to be highly respectful when she wants her own space.

Socks is happy to tolerate other cats but doesn’t become particularly involved with them. When food is nearby, she’s the first in line and will make sure she receives as much as possible. She could happily live with a similarly independent cat and is confident enough to live with dogs.

In the right environment, Socks’ affectionate side is likely to develop even more. Her trust will be earned by respecting her sassy streak and building mutual respect. Due to her food-driven nature, she would be likely to find another family to feed her if allowed outside.
